Newcastle United could welcome Florian Lejuene back to first-team action soon.

Newcastle United return from the international break in Monday’s clash with Burnley, and they have been handed a huge boost ahead of that game; Florian Lejeune is back.
The French centre back starred last season following a move from Spanish side Girona, impressing not only as a rugged defender but also with his ability to play out from the back.
Many expected the former Manchester City man to partner up with Jamaal Lascelles again this season in a superb partnership, but disaster hit Lejeune in pre-season.
A major knee injury in July left Lejeune needing surgery, and Newcastle went out to get Federico Fernandez from Swansea City to fill in for Lejeune’s absence, with few expecting him to feature again in 2018.
However, there have been murmurings of late that Lejeune is making remarkable progress from his injury, and could even return to first-team action before the end of the year.

Now, Newcastle have released photos from today’s training session, and they have highlighted that Lejeune is back in full training for the first time, just four months on from his major injury.
Of course, Lejeune won’t feature against Burnley having only just come back, but Newcastle fans should be hugely excited that he is back and closing in on a Premier League return – and having four impressive centre backs in Lacelles, Lejeune, Fernandez and Fabian Schar is certainly something to celebrate.
