Former Arsenal hero distances himself from Chelsea speculation by jetting off next to Manchester United star with Spain.
It has been quite a 48 hours for transfer speculation and Cesc Fabgregas, and the upshot remains; he continues to be linked with Barcelona but his destination still a mystery.
Having been pictured in London at the weekend, Cesc is now heading far away from it all, flying off to United States capital Washington DC with the Spanish squad.
He may have had to put his sponsored Beats By Dre headphones in for the journey however, after he posted a shot on his Instagram page showing he was sitting next to Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata.
Mata’s club colleague David De Gea stated last week he was doing everything he can to try to persuade the Barcelona man to join United, although the latest indications are that the Red Devils have dropped their interest.
However if Fabregas wanted to avoid being persuaded, he might just have had to put the headphones in to get away from Mata trying to persuade him; after all it’s a long flight across the Atlantic.
Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claimed yesterday it was Chelsea who were frontrunners for his signature.
Fabregas being World Cup bound indicates now though that there may be less movement until after the tournament and the speculation may die down a bit; but we wouldn’t count on it.
