Celtic appear to be closing in on left back Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo.

Celtic have already secured two new signings after landing defender Christopher Jullien and midfielder Luca Connell – but a third may be on the way.

It’s a busy time for Celtic, who are not only looking to bring players in, but also move them on having allowed Youssouf Mulumbu and Marinv Compper to leave.

Boss Neil Lennon will be hoping to keep hold of star left back Kieran Tierney, but with Emilio Izaguirre gone, another left back will be needed anyway.

The top target in recent days has been Rapid Vienna star Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo, and Lennon told the Daily Record on Tuesday that a deal was close.

Celtic were hoping to get a deal done by 10pm tomorrow in order to register him for Champions League action, and they look to have beaten that deadline.

The photo, uploaded by BBC Sport, shows Bolingoli-Mbombo leaving Glasgow airport, because he’s on his way to finalise his £3million move to Celtic.

The 23-year-old is known as a rapid, speedy left back, who can both get forward and defend, and he fits the bill perfectly either as competition for Tierney or his potential replacement.

The price is great, and Bolingoli-Mbombo – the cousin of Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku – will seemingly put the finishing touches to his move tonight, before being confirmed as a Celtic player tomorrow.
