Chelsea winger Eden Hazard is prepared to take on the world in Brazil.
Eden Hazard is one of the world’s most gifted players and will head to the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil on the back of a brilliant season.
The 23-year-old failed to lead the Blues to a trophy in the 2013-14 campaign, but on a personal level he had a very successful season. The Belgium international picked up the PFA Young Player of the Year award for scoring 14 goals and providing seven assists in 35 Premier League appearances, while enthralling everyone with his displays.
Now Hazard will head to Brazil to lead Belgium to World Cup success. The Red Devils have a truly talented squad and have quality all over the pitch. Although Marc Wilmots’ side are not among the favourites to win the tournament, they are expected to progress far.
Belgium have been preparing for football’s biggest competition by playing friendly internationals. Last month, the Belgians hammered Luxembourg 5-1, and on June 1, they got the better of Sweden 2-0 in Stockholm. On Saturday, they will play their final match on home soil before flying to Brazil.
Tunisia will be Belgium’s opponents in Brussels, and ahead of the match which Vincent Kompany and his players are expected to win, Hazard has posted a photo of all the team members on Instagram with the message: ‘#allezlesdiablesrouges’.
Belgium have been drawn in an easy group, as they will face Algeria, Russia and South Korea in Group H. Diables Rouges are expected to progress to the last-16 stage, but what happens thereafter remains to be seen.
