The Tottenham Hotspur youngster was great against the French league leaders.

Tottenham Hotspur suffered a 2-1 defeat to AS Monaco on Wednesday evening in their first Champions League match of the new campaign.
It was a disappointing comedown for Spurs and their fans after Mauricio Pochettino’s men had defeated Stoke City 4-0 in a superb performance last weekend.
However, two first-half goals meant that Toby Alderweireld’s goal was ultimately nothing more than a consolation.

One player who did not deserve to suffer the ignominy of defeat was Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli, with the England international putting in a fine display and doing everything within his power to pull his club back into the game.
The 20-year-old stepped seamlessly into Tottenham’s starting line-up last season and while he does not always play to his own high standards – to be expected at his age – he looks like having another superb campaign.
The image above shows a player who did not deserve to be on the losing side earlier this week and on this evidence he will not be on too many occasions between now and May.
