Tottenham Hotspur may have been scouting Watford v Ipswich Town in the FA Youth Cup this week.
Watford advanced into the last eight of the FA Youth Cup on Tuesday night with a thumping win over Ipswich Town.
The Hornets first team are in FA Cup action this weekend, but it was their youngster’s who impressed in cup action with a huge 4-1 victory.
Striker Ryan Cassidy stole the show, with the Irishman grabbing two goals and two assists for Watford on their way to a convincing win.
Jayden Bennetts grabbed Watford’s other two goals, both of which were set up by Cassidy in a red-hot showing from the striker, whilst Thomas Hughes grabbed Ipswich’s consolation.
Cassidy, 17, has impressed in the Watford youth ranks, and The Irish Mirror recently claimed that Aston Villa and Everton are both interested in signing Cassidy.
Watford will be hoping to keep hold of the young striker, but one notable face in the stands at Wingate and Finchley must have been impressed.
David Pleat – a scout and consultant for Tottenham in the transfer market – was photographed at the game, with Watford’s official Twitter account posting a snap of him.
Pleat, the man who drove Tottenham’s interest in Dele Alli back in 2015, was seemingly scouting for more young prospects on Tuesday, and striker Cassidy must have grabbed his attention with a superb showing.
