There was about a thousand interesting things about Tottenham Hotspur’s first game under Antonio Conte.
Conte kicked off his Spurs career with a 3-2 Europa Conference League win over Vitesse in North London.
Three red cards, five goals and more talking points than you can shake a stick at.
But Harry Winks’s return was among the interesting developments.
The 25-year-old hadn’t played under Conte’s predecessor Nuno Espirito Santo since losing to the Dutch side in the reverse fixture last month.
In fact, he hadn’t even been making the matchday squads on a regular basis after speaking to the media about his frustration over playing time.
But the new Tottenham boss brought the England international in from the cold last night, giving him a 17-minute cameo.
And here’s a photo of Conte giving Winks some instructions prior to sending him in.

Resurrection
It remains to be seen if Winks – valued at £40 million in September [The Times] – impressed the legendary Italian coach.
But if he makes the squad for Tottenham’s trip to Everton on Sunday then that’s a solid indication that he’s going in the right direction.
Conte’s arrival was always going to see some Spurs players resurrect their careers in North London and hopefully for Winks, he can be one of them.
