The former Celtic marksman returned to Parkhead today.

Moussa Dembele of Celtic is seen during a training session at Lennoxtown on December 29, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Moussa Dembele returned to Parkhead for the first time since leaving Celtic last summer.

The Lyon hitman, who joined the Ligue 1 outfit in August, was present as Celtic beat Hearts 2-1 in their last Premiership game of the season.

Neil Lennon’s side lifted the Premiership trophy afterwards and Dembele, who made one league appearance for the Hoops before leaving, was watching on, though it isn’t known if he received a medal.

The 22-year-old left Glasgow under something of a cloud following a training-ground row with then-manager Brendan Rodgers, after aiming a Twitter tirade against the Northern Irishman.

But with Rodgers having left the club to join Leicester City, there was no fear of an awkward reunion between Dembele and his former boss.

Dembele, who left for £19.7 million, has been killing it in Ligue 1 this calendar year.

The former Fulham ace, who joined Celtic for £500,000 in 2016, scored in Saturday’s 4-0 win over Caen to make it 14 goals in 17 league starts in 2019.

Moussa Dembele celebrates his 2nd goal (Celtic's 4th) during the Betfred Cup Semi-Final at Hampden Park on October 21, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.
