Celtic fans will be hoping that Luca Connell’s presence at Parkhead is an extremely good sign as the Hoops reportedly try to sign the teenager.

Celtic’s hopes of signing Luca Connell this summer appear to have received a boost with pictures on social media showing the Bolton midfielder being shown around Parkhead.

The Daily Mail recently reported that the Hoops were leading the race to sign the teenager having made contact regarding a potential deal. And Connell seemed to put the Bhoys on alert by telling the Irish Examiner this week that it would be an honour to play for Neil Lennon’s side if that is where he ends up this summer.

It remains to be seen if Celtic win the race to land the 18-year-old, but they certainly appear to have taken a big stride towards a possible deal, with pictures on Twitter showing Connell alongside Peter Lawwell at the foot of the tunnel at Parkhead.

It would be no surprise if many of the Celtic fans were not getting carried away by the sighting. The Daily Record reported last month that Rekeem Harper had attended one of the club’s final games of the season, and while he could still join the Hoops with his future still up in the air, the fact that nothing has been agreed as yet hints that these kind of trips may not be as significant as some supporters may hope.

It would be a fantastic piece of business for Celtic to land Connell, with the Daily Record reporting that the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton both want to hand the teenager a chance in the Premier League.

There may be some way to go before anything is official. But it certainly appears to be a good sign that he seems to be considering a Parkhead switch so seriously.
