Celtic have snapped up veteran defender Marvin Compper.

Celtic bounced back from Sunday’s 4-0 defeat to Hearts by beating Partick Thistle 2-0 on Wednesday night – and they also presented a new signing.
The club’s 69-game unbeaten run came to an end at Hearts, leaving manager Brendan Rodgers to try and pick his players up and kickstart another run.
His players responded on Wednesday night, with Stuart Armstrong and Kieran Tierney finding the net in a comfortable win for the Bhoys.

Celtic now sit five points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table, and manager Rodgers had a new arrival to welcome on Wednesday.
Earlier in the day, Celtic secured the signature of RB Leipzig defender Marvin Compper on a two-and-a-half year contract, paying an undisclosed fee.
The 32-year-old centre backs joins to boost Rodgers’ defensive options, after the former Borussia Monchengladbach, Hoffenheim and Fiorentina man played a key role for Leipzig.
On Wednesday night, Compper was paraded in front of the Celtic fans for the first time, as seen below – and narrowly avoided an embarrassing moment with a sprinkler during half time!
