Brendan Rodgers has left Celtic to become Leicester City boss.
After an incredible sequence of events, Brendan Rodgers was in the stands to watch his new Leicester City side beat Brighton and Hove Albion 2-1 on Tuesday night.
The Foxes sacked Claude Puel on Sunday morning, just a matter of hours after the 4-1 home defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace.
Rodgers was immediately linked with the role, but more with a view to taking over at the end of the season when his Celtic side had won the title and potentially a third domestic treble in a row under Rodgers.
However, Leicester made the move on Tuesday morning, and Rodgers was confirmed as the new Leicester boss before Tuesday’s game with Brighton, as the rapid movement shocked many.
With Rodgers in the stands, he saw Demarai Gray and Jamie Vardy give Leicester a 2-0 lead, before Davy Propper gave them a scare with what proved to be a consolation for Brighton.
Rodgers will now take charge for the first time against his former club Watford on Sunday, with the Northern Irishman no doubt hoping to get off to a great start.
