Manchester City thrashed Huddersfield Town 6-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon, and there was a fascinating spectator in the stands.
City were in imperious form once again, as Sergio Aguero bagged a hat-trick for the Premier League champions, with Gabriel Jesus and David Silva also getting on the scoresheet, whilst Terence Kongolo scored an own goal.
Pep Guardiola’s men excelled even without Kevin De Bruyne, and whilst fans were treated to a fantastic showing, there was one interesting viewer from the Etihad Stadium stands.
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers was spotted watching the game, as seen in two photographs within this article, leaving fans to wonder just why the Northern Irishman was there.
Celtic beat Partick Thistle 3-1 on Saturday afternoon, and won’t be playing either Manchester City or Huddersfield Town any time soon, meaning his trip wasn’t for any game preparation reasons.
The Bhoys may have a strong relationship with City having just signed Daniel Arzani, following on from deals with City involving Jason Denayer, John Guidetti, Dedryck Boyata, Patrick Roberts and Olivier Ntcham, but no first-team players on show will be within Celtic’s budget.

Huddersfield players would be surprising targets for Celtic, and that may suggest that Rodgers was there for further talks with City about other players heading to Glasgow before the end of the transfer window this month.
Defenders Philippe Sandler or Cameron Humphreys-Grant may fit the bill, or even another playmaker in Brahim Diaz, with Rodgers surely at the Etihad Stadium on transfer business given the distance between Glasgow and Manchester; hardly close enough to just go to take in a match.
