Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp clearly likes youngster Billy Koumetio.

The German raved about the 18-year-old Reds defender during the off-season and was even reported to have held individual training sessions with the academy player.

On Wednesday, Klopp named the French powerhouse in his squad for the Champions League defeat by Atalanta, further evidence that the Liverpool manager is a fan.

Despite not making it off the bench last night, Koumetio remains in Klopp’s plans it would seem.

Earlier today he was spotted in Klopp’s first-team training and the size of the young man was really very apparent.

Takumin Minamino, who stands at 5’9, was dwarved by the towering central defender, who stands at 6’4.

Here’s some snaps of the session:

Liverpool have a lot of games in the month of December – eight, to be specific – and with Klopp struggling with numbers due to Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez’s injuries, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if Koumetio earns a senior debut at some point in the very near future.
