After Leeds confirmed the signing of Junior Firpo from Barcelona, the prospect of him playing behind Jack Harrison became a reality.

With Harrison’s tendency to cut inside and shoot, coupled with Firpo’s love of overlapping, it seems a match made in heaven for Marcelo Bielsa.

Now, a photo has emerged from the club’s pre-season training which could suggest that Bielsa is already trying to create a relationship between them.

It might not seem like much, but here it is.

Above, we can see Firpo partnered with Harrison in training, throwing the ball to each other with Patrick Bamford in the background.

Hopefully, the pair have spent more time together away from this particular drill, potentially eating meals together in the canteen and so on.

If they can develop some chemistry away from the pitch, then it should be easier to play with each other on the pitch.

Whatever happens, 2021/22 looks set to be so exciting for Leeds.

On the other flank, Bielsa has another deadly duo in Luke Ayling and Raphinha, the latter of whom could get even better with a full season of Premier League experience under his belt.

Elsewhere, the same goes for Illan Meslier.

Ahead of the Frenchman, Robin Koch and Diego Llorente is a stellar centre-back partnership, while Rodrigo and Bamford could be a lethal duo.

Bielsa has such a good squad at his disposal, to say the least.

Now, the challenge is to better last season’s ninth place finish.
