Kevin Wimmer left Tottenham Hotspur for Stoke City in the summer after failing to nail down a first-team place.

But with Son Heung-min, who described the Austrian as his “best friend” to the London Evening Standard, still at Spurs, Wimmer has a reason to visit.

The defender was at Wembley on Sunday to watch his former club romp to a 4-1 win over Liverpool, and took the opportunity to catch up with goalscorer Son over dinner afterwards.

Wimmer posted the following pictures on his Instagram story, as tweeted by Hotspur Graphics later in the day.

Son fired home Tottenham’s second against the Reds to equal the record of goals scored by a South Korean in the Premier League with 19.

He managed 14 of those last season, but Sunday’s strike was his first since Wimmer departed Spurs.

Wimmer, who made 31 appearances over two seasons at Tottenham, did not feature for Stoke this weekend as they suffered a 2-1 defeat at Bournemouth.

Watching Spurs and Son pick up a huge victory might have helped heal those wounds.
