Mikel Arteta put his Arsenal players through their paces at London Colney on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners are preparing for a massive Premier League visit to West Ham United this evening.

Defeat could well cost Arsenal a place in the Champions League next season.

Tottenham Hotspur are two points behind fourth-placed Arsenal and will play Leicester City in North London earlier in the game.

It’s possible that Spurs will end Sunday one point clear of Arteta’s side and with the Lilywhites hosting their neighbours in the penultimate game of the Premier League campaign, those on the red half of the North London divide don’t want to give their sworn enemies any sort of advantage.

No matter what happens in the Tottenham game, Arsenal absolutely need to beat West Ham and therefore the Spanish manager will no doubt pick his strongest-possible XI.

There’s no room for experimentation, but there was at London Colney yesterday.

Arteta promoted a number of young faces to senior training and, among them, Jimi Glower.

In one image, the 17-year-old midfielder can be seen nipping at the heels of Gabriel Martinelli.

Another youngster in the form of Zak Swanson was present at the training session.

Swanson is a little more of a recognisable name among Arsenal supporters than Glower, though the former still hasn’t made a senior appearance for the North Londoners.

Here’s a couple of pictures of Swanson during the session:
