Photo: Arteta promotes exit-bound Arsenal prospect to senior training, tussles with Gabriel

With quite a few Arsenal players away on international duty, Mikel Arteta invited a lot of young stars to train with the senior lads at London Colney today.

And Folarin Balogun was one of them.

Balogun was one of several young stars to mix it with the more established players in what is a noteworthy development.

That’s because the 19-year-old is months away from leaving Arsenal as we speak and he hasn’t been seen training under Arteta a lot of as of late.

Balogun is out of contract with the North London this summer and looks set to leave.

He was regularly invited to train with Arteta’s senior players earlier in the campaign, but that seemed to change when the teenage striker posted footage of him scoring goals on social media almost immediately after the Spaniard’s side were losing games, in what might’ve been considered thinly-veiled protests over his lack of playing time.

In any case, Balogun was in Arteta’s session today and was spotted being challenged by Gabriel Magalhaes.
