During the winter break, Mikel Arteta has flown his Arsenal squad out to Dubai for a warm weather training camp.

Among the usual first-teamers were a few Hale End gems, one of whom looks more than ready for senior football from a physical aspect.

What’s the story?

Well, after making no additions to the first-team in January, Arteta may have to lean on Hale End for squad depth for the rest of this season.

One player we may now see more of is Taylor Foran, after he was spotted among the first-team out in Dubai.

The 18-year-old, who captains the Under-18 side, was seen towering over Gabriel Martinelli as he challenged the Brazilian in training.

You can see a photo of the teenager below.

In our view, Arteta has to be impressed by the centre-back’s physique, especially at the age of 18.

Premier League football is by no means a walk in the park, and as good as you may be technically, you need to be able to handle yourself physically.

Taylor Foran may have to wait for Arsenal debut

It has been a bad season for Arsenal’s youngsters as far as first-team opportunities come.

The likes of Bukayo Saka made a name for themselves in the Europa League, which Arsenal were not involved in this season.

The Gunners didn’t even qualify for the UEFA Conference League, while they were also knocked out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle.

Now, all that remains is the Premier League, where very few youngsters are handed debuts unless the end of the season is approaching.

In that respect, Foran may have to wait for a first-team debut, no matter how well he performs in training under Arteta.
