Daniel Crowley is delighted to have signed his first professional contract with Arsenal at the age of 17.
Daniel Crowley has received a perfect birthday gift – his first professional contract with Arsenal – and he is over the moon.
The midfielder turned 17 on Sunday and just a day later put pen to paper on a deal with the Gunners.
It must be a dream come true for the teenager, who wasted little time before expressing his delight on social networking site Twitter by posting a picture of him, his family and his agent.
Crowley, who joined Arsenal from Aston Villa in the summer of 2013, is highly-rated central midfielder and has a playing style similar to that of first-team regular and England international Jack Wilshere.
Three Lions coach Roy Hodgson is believed to be a big admirer of the youngster, who is currently a England youth international.
Crowley had a successful debut season with Arsenal in 2013-14, scoring two goals and providing four assists in the Gunners’ 6-0 victory over Peterborough United in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup.
The 17-year-old also played an important role in Arsenal’s run to the Under-19 UEFA Youth League quarter-finals, as he made three appearances.
Crowley seems to have a bright future, and Arsenal fans will hope that he continues to progress and develop.
