Newcastle United defender DeAndre Yedlin was lucky to escape injury after Crystal Palace’s Yohan Cabaye put in a shocking challenge on him.

Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend’s reaction to Yohan Cabaye’s vicious tackle on Newcastle United defender DeAndre Yedlin speaks volumes for what he thought about the challenge.
Cabaye launched into a fierce tackle on Yedlin, and he was very fortunate to escape with just a yellow card.
And Townsend’s reaction to Cabaye’s foul made it very clear that he felt the Frenchman was lucky to not be handed a red.

Cabaye and Townsend have both represented Newcastle earlier in their careers, and it is fair to say that the St. James’ Park crowd enjoyed getting one over on the pair of them.
Newcastle managed to pick up the three points against Palace, with Mikel Merino scoring a late header to seal the victory, which piles further misery on Roy Hodgson’s Eagles, who are currently sat at the bottom of the Premier League table.

Newcastle, meanwhile, are on a great run of form and have now won four of their last seven league matches to move into seventh place in the top flight standings.
