Ex-Celtic defender Andreas Hinkel has returned to the club today.

Celtic are busy preparing for Thursday’s Europa League clash with Red Bull Salzburg, but they did have a surprise visitor on Wednesday.
Brendan Rodgers will be getting his side ready and raring to go for tomorrow’s meeting at Parkhead, with the Bhoys nearing qualification.
Salzburg have won every game so far and are already through, and with Celtic in second place, three points clear of RB Leipzig, they just need a point to head into the knockout stages.
Rodgers will be looking for a strong performance, and whilst he was putting his players through their paces earlier today, an old face was spotted at Lennoxtown.
Former defender Andreas Hinkel joined Celtic in 2008 from Sevilla, with Gordon Strachan luring the German to Glasgow midway through the 2007-08 season.

The right back went on to make 100 appearances for Celtic before moving on to Freiburg in 2011, and he has since embarked on a coaching career, taking charge of Stuttgart youth and their B team before a stint as caretaker manager of the first team in October.
Hinkel, 36, was seen alongside Rodgers at Celtic’s training session earlier today, and appears to have been there to study Rodgers’ methods to boost his own managerial career down the line, rather than because he will be returning to Celtic in a coaching capacity any time soon.
