In a recent interview with The Athletic, Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi shared their many plans for Newcastle.
The pair intend to build a new state-of-the-art training ground on Tyneside, while they also want the women’s team to play at St James’ Park.
On the topic of St James’ Park, Staveley and Ghodoussi have now made a significant change to the outside of the stadium.
What’s the story?
Well, the Newcastle co-owners have now brought Shearer’s back to St James’ Park, after Mike Ashley renamed it to Nine Bar.
The change initially happened due to a breakdown in Ashley and Shearer’s relationship, and, with the Toon Army obviously siding with Shearer, it proved to be an unpopular decision.

Now, however, Staveley and Ghodoussi have put things right.

It may only be a small change for neutral fans, although for the Newcastle supporters, this is a big step in getting their beloved Magpies back to how they were.
Newcastle on the up
Shearer’s is back, the Magpies just embarked on a nine-game unbeaten run in the Premier League, and relegation now looks very unlikely.
It has been a fantastic start to 2022 for Newcastle, as Staveley and Ghodoussi’s ownership begins to take effect.
There are big plans for the summer, with huge funds expected to be invested in the playing staff for Eddie Howe.

This time next year, we could easily be talking about the Magpies as contenders for a place in Europe.
It’s an exciting time to be part of the Toon Army, and after many years of misery under Ashley, it’s the least the fans deserve.
