The Nottingham Forest Under-23 side were in action against their Cardiff City counterparts at the City Ground on Monday.

Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka was at the City Ground on Monday evening to watch the Under-23 side in action, as shown in the following post on social networking site Twitter.
The Forest Under-23 side took on their Cardiff City counterparts, and first-team manager Karanka attended the match.
Toby Edser and Virgil Gomis scored the goals for the Reds in their comfortable 2-0 win.
Encouraging for Nottingham Forest fans
Karanka’s presence at the Under-23 game on Monday evening suggests that the Forest manager is keeping tabs on the youngsters at the club.

Although Forest have a strong squad who are capable of finishing in the top six of the Championship this season, the former Middlesbrough manager may need players from the Under-23 side in the coming months.
It must be very encouraging for Forest fans and the youth-team players that Karanka was at the Under-23 side’s game against their Cardiff City counterparts at the City Ground on Monday evening.
