With Monday’s transfer deadline looming, Arsenal and Newcastle target Alexander Isak has now been spotted in London as speculation grows.

What’s the story?

Well, after missing out on Dusan Vlahovic, Arsenal are now actively trying to sign the Sweden international, according to The Athletic.

However, the Daily Mail believe Newcastle are also interested.

Unfortunately for the Magpies, London is nowhere near Tyneside, so speculation over Isak joining Arsenal has now ramped up significantly.

You can see a photo, and a video, of the 22-year-old alongside his good friend Adnan Janazuj in London below.

By the looks of it, the pair are just on a short city break together as they take in the sights of London.

However, the timing is very, very intriguing.

There are just days remaining of the transfer window, and with Arsenal actively hunting for a striker, Isak’s appearance in London gives supporters plenty to think about.

Alexander Isak should choose Arsenal over Newcastle

If it came down to a choice between the two, we think Isak should opt for the Gunners over the Magpies.

Mikel Arteta is building an Under-23 superteam at the Emirates Stadium, including wonderkids such as Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Martinelli.

Isak has the chance to spearhead this incredible attack, which could easily go on to dominate Europe in a few years should they all stay together.

Under an attack-minded manager who clearly excels with young players, we feel the Swede – who has a €90m (£75m) release clause – would thrive in north London.

Isak needn’t worry about a lack of game time either, as Arsenal’s centre-forward department is extremely thin – in truth, it could be vacant by June.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been exiled, whereas Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah become free agents in June.

Keep an eye on this saga, as Isak could well have been in London for another reason than just seeing the sights…
