Yesterday, the cameras were present at West Ham’s Rush Green training ground, and a familiar face was spotted amongst the regular trainers.

West Ham’s official Twitter account uploaded a photo of Arthur Masuaku back among his teammates in training.

The photo in question showed the DR Congo international looking in good spirits as he embraces Issa Diop in east London.

You can see the photo of the Frenchman and his fellow defender below.

Masuaku last played for the Hammers in a 3-1 defeat to Manchester United on December 5th.

After that clash, the 27-year-old went under the knife to have surgery on a knee issue which was troubling him.

At the start of February, David Moyes confirmed that the £6 million left-back had resumed light training, and now, it looks like he’s returned to full contact, first-team activities.

This is great news for the Irons as they look to qualify for the Champions League in the final 11 games of the campaign.

While Aaron Cresswell has shone at left-back with seven Premier League assists this season, Masuaku offers something different.

The former Olympiacos man’s dribbling ability is arguably the best in West Ham’s squad, while he’s also a much quicker option down the flank compared to Cresswell.

Competition is always healthy, so it doesn’t even matter if Masuaku fails to appear much in the final 11 games – his mere presence on the sidelines could potentially push Cresswell to perform even better.
