Yesterday, those in the Everton squad who hadn’t left Merseyside for international duty trained with Carlo Ancelotti at Finch Farm.
Among the crowd, a not-so-familiar face could be seen.
For the first time in ages, Jean-Philippe Gbamin was able to take part in full training with his team-mates after recovering from a serious knee injury.
You can see a photo of the defensive midfielder at Finch Farm below.

Everton spent a lot of money to bring the 12-cap Ivory Coast international to Goodison Park.
It was Marco Silva who splashed out £25 million to sign Gbamin from Mainz 05 in August 2019.
The Toffees then handed him a £65,000-a-week contract.

Sadly, the 25-year-old only played two first-team games for Everton before suffering a severe cruciate ligament problem.
While he was missing, the club actually sacked Silva, named Duncan Ferguson as interim manager, before hiring none other than the Champions League winning Italian.
As he’s been injured, Ancelotti hasn’t actually had a chance to use Gbamin once, as Transfermarkt shows.

It’s safe to say Gbamin has missed a fair amount while on the treatment table.
Hopefully, the Ivorian is now 100% fit and ready to fight for a place in Ancelotti’s starting XI.
Gbamin cost Everton a fair bit of cash, so he must start replaying the club’s faith in him now that he’s ready to go again.
