Zech Medley will hope that he starts getting more minutes in Arsenal’s senior side next season.
The 19-year-old defender is yet to make his Premier League debut for the Gunners but has made his first-team bow in the Europa League under Unai Emery.
But Medley has struggled to stay involved at senior level and reverted to being an Under-23 player over the past 18 months.
But Mikel Arteta might be a fan.
The Arsenal head coach promoted the towering centre-back – who stands at 6’4 – to first-team training on Saturday and here’s a snap of the young man at London Colney.

Arteta is going to have a tonne of centre-half options to choose from next season, but there’s hope for Medley because despite being a towering physical specimen, he clearly has other talents.
With the Under-23s this season, Medley has also played left-back and even on the wing, scoring twice in a Premier League International Cup win over Monaco a couple of months ago.
But the fact that he’s been included in Arteta’s training is certainly a promising sign and if he impresses, who knows what can happen.
