Liverpool are reportedly signing Fabio Carvalho this summer.
According to The Guardian, Liverpool have struck a £5 million deal with Fulham for the 19-year-old sensation.
Carvalho has been ripping up the Championship this season and almost secured a January transfer to Anfield, but it collapsed.
However, the Reds look poised to succeed on this occasion, with Fabrizio Romano writing for The Guardian that he’ll be moving to Anfield on a five-year deal this summer.
It isn’t yet confirmed, but the player himself might’ve effectively let the cat out of the bag.
That’s because Carvalho ‘liked’ an Instagram post about him joining Liverpool.
Future
Liverpool are clearly trying to build the next generation of superstars on Merseyside.
As successful as Virgil van Dijk, Jordan Henderson, Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino have been, they’re all over 30 [except Salah, who turns that age in June].
And therefore it definitely makes sense for Jurgen Klopp to look to the future, even if the mainstays have some years left in them yet.
Carvalho will join the likes of Ibrahima Konate, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, Kaide Gordon and Luis Diaz as the next crop of Reds star.
Granted, 25-year-old Diaz is significantly older than the others, but he’s still going to be a massive part in Liverpool’s future over the coming years, as will the youngsters.
Klopp has already built a phenomenally-successful team, but can he rebuild it?
Well, Carvalho is an indication that he fully intends to.
