It looks like Lucas Torreira is back at Arsenal.
Well, he’s back in London anyway.
The Uruguay international has finally touched down in the English capital after being given an extended break following his Copa America participation.
Torreira isn’t required to quarantine after flying back to England via Madrid last week.
But it appears as if he hasn’t actually got back to Arsenal’s training ground at London Colney yet.
The former Sampdoria midfielder uploaded a photo on Instagram of him doing some indoor gym work in what looks like a private location, with the caption ‘Londres’ added.
No future
Torreira hasn’t played for Arsenal in a year after spending last season on loan with Atletico Madrid, who opted against signing him on a permanent basis.
According to Football London, Mikel Arteta has told the South American midfielder that he is free to look for a different club, with his three-year spell in North London looking in major doubt following a £27 million move in 2018.
Despite a brilliant first season with the Gunners, where he helped the team to a Europa League final, the 25-year-old has declined in a major way since then and it seems extremely unlikely that they’re going to recoup the money that was spent on him.
