Everyone knows that Tottenham Hotspur might have to sign a striker this summer.
Well, at least one of them.
That’s because Harry Kane is heavily linked with a move away from Spurs and if he leaves, he’ll be hard to replace.
We’re talking about one of the game’s most lethal goalscorers here and Tottenham – who already need another number nine following Carlos Vinicius’s exit – could struggle to find somebody to match the Englishman’s talents up front, irrespective of how much they receive for him.
The Lilywhites aren’t being linked with that many strikers yet, but speculation about a move for Luis Muriel may ramp up from here on in.
The Colombia international hasn’t been linked with a move to North London as things stand but, interestingly, the 30-year-old Atalanta marksman has been spotted wearing a Tottenham jersey.
A photo is doing the rounds on Twitter of Muriel wearing a Spurs shirt after what appears to be a friendly game of 5-a-side among friends.
Should they?
Regardless of whether Kane stays or goes, Fabio Paratici should look at the South American.
After all, he netted 26 goals in all competitions for Atalanta last season and it just so happens that Paratici, hired from Juventus this summer, has a hell of a lot of contacts within Serie A.
At 30, his best days may well be behind him, but anyone who can hit 26 goals in Italian football could still be a very decent back-up option for Kane – or for the big-money replacement that Daniel Levy may yet have to sign.
