Despite needing a replacement for Sebastien Haller, West Ham only made one new signing in the January transfer window, and it wasn’t a striker.

David Moyes moved to bring Jesse Lingard to the London Stadium on loan from Manchester United, in a deal lasting until the end of the season.

The pair know each other well from their time together at Old Trafford, and it feels like it has the potential to be a wise move from the Hammers.

Lingard could make his debut in tonight’s game against Aston Villa, after he was spotted training with his teammates ahead of the clash.

You can see the 24-cap England international at Rush Green below.

Of course, Moyes is yet to use Lingard.

The Scot decided not to play the 28-year-old against Liverpool last time out, perhaps seeing as the Warrington-born attacker only arrived on January 29th.

Moyes could play Lingard at Villa Park tonight, although it may still be too soon, in our view.

The Red Devils academy graduate hasn’t played a single second of Premier League football this season, having struggled at Old Trafford.

In that respect, he may need more time to get himself up to speed and on the level of his teammates, who are looking finely tuned right now.
