There wasn’t much press about it when Tobi Omole joined Tottenham Hotspur after being released by Arsenal 12 months ago.
Okay so it’s hardly a reverse Sol Campbell situation, but crossing the North London divide is always an interesting development and that’s what the 21-year-old did last year.
Omole began his youth career at Arsenal but is now on Spurs’ books – and the young man has just been included in Nuno Espirito Santo’s senior training at Hotspur Way.
Tottenham released photographs of Nuno’s latest session on Thursday afternoon ahead of Sunday’s trip to Newcastle United.
And although little is still known about Omole for the most part, one thing we do know is that he’s one heck of a physical specimen.
In some pictures, Omole is snapped towering over Son Heung-min and looks a similar height to Joe Rodon, who we know stands at 6’4.
Here’s some images of the big man:

The fact that Nuno promoted him to senior training is an interesting development but, by the same token, it might not mean much.
Omole probably won’t be included in the Premier League squad for Sunday’s trip to St James’s Park, for example.
But the former Arsenal powerhouse has evidently impressed the Portuguese coach to the point that he wants him training with senior players.
And if that continues, well that will certainly do his chances of a debut no harm at all at some point down the line.
