On Tuesday, Kaide Gordon made his debut for Liverpool in an Under-18s clash against Blackburn, following his January move from Derby.
The 16-year-old joined the Reds in a deal worth £1 million last month, and has already gone straight into an age group two years above his own.
Gordon is regarded as one of the best 16-year-old forwards in the country.
He had already made his Championship debut under Wayne Rooney before leaving Pride Park, while he’s also been compared to Mohamed Salah.
Sadly, the teenager suffered defeat in his first game for Liverpool, as the Under-18 side succumbed to a 1-0 defeat against Blackburn.

Transfermarkt shows that Gordon played 81 minutes of the defeat.
Despite the result, the wonderkid still looked dangerous.
He nearly forced an own goal thanks to a low cross from the right flank, while he also smashed the crossbar with an effort that was inches away.
That particular moment was caught on camera – you can see Gordon’s woodwork-bound attempt at goal below.

It’s great to see that Liverpool have already got the 16-year-old playing and proving to be dangerous – if his development is done correctly, the Reds will have a serious talent on their hands.
Not many 16-year-olds warrant a £1 million fee. In Gordon and Harvey Elliott, Liverpool could have English football’s next best attacking prodigies right under their nose.
