The defender has made one appearance for the senior West Ham team.
West Ham’s Diego Poyet and Alex Pike look dejected after full time
West Ham United have certainly got themselves something of a problem in the injury department. The club are currently without both of their starting left-backs, with Aaron Cresswell not yet ready for a return to first-team action and Arthur Masuaku also on the sidelines.
Havard Nordtveit also has a problem now, meaning they are without a utility option.
With that in mind it seems that West Ham boss Slaven Bilic has looked to his young players for a potential solution.
Judging by some of the pictures from West Ham training this week that would certainly be the case.
The blonde bombshell some might be struggling to recognise is 19-year-old full-back Alex Pike.
Predominantly a right-back his defensive qualities at full-back are likely to be being used in training due to Bilic’s current shortage.
West Ham United’s Alex Pike
It could also be that he is in with a shout of a first taste of Premier League action.
Pike has played for the West Ham first-team before. He came on as a late substitute as West Ham lost to Astra Giurgiu in the Europa League qualifying rounds last season.
West Ham fans will be keeping an eye on the teenager’s progress in the coming weeks.
