The young stopper has not yet made his Liverpool debut.
Liverpool take on Sevilla in the Europa League final tomorrow night as Jurgen Klopp aims for a first piece of silverware as Liverpool manager.
The vast majority of the players who travelled to Switzerland for the final were all seasoned first-teamers or young players who have all featured in the Liverpool first-team throughout the campaign.
However, what an opportunity and experience has been handed to Shamal George – who is currently with the Liverpool squad in Basel.
He was pictured training with the group today on the St Jakob Park pitch and looked to be enjoying himself.
George is an 18-year-old from the Wirrall who has been with Liverpool since 2009. He is yet to feature for the Liverpool first-team but has been invited into the Europa League squad as back-up to Simon Mignolet and Danny Ward.
Of course it would be very unlikely to see the teenager make his Liverpool debut in such a momentous game but he will no doubt be enjoying this experience which can hopefully help develop him as a top talent for Liverpool’s future.
