Yesterday, Cîrjan Cătălin tweeted some photos of himself in first-team training at Arsenal’s London Colney.
The 18-year-old, who Mikel Arteta has never played before, is a very promising talent, who the Spaniard seems to rate highly.
Cătălin signed his first professional contract in December 2019, and he’s taken great strides at the Emirates Stadium ever since.
Arteta promoted the Romanian to first-team training on a full-time basis back in December, which says a lot about how much he rates him.
Now, after he tweeted some pictures of himself in training, we noticed that the teenager looks quite strong for his size.
The diminutive playmaker was seen fending off Pablo Mari, who Transfermarkt claim stands at 6 foot 3 inches.

Mari is even tugging Cătălin’s shirt, but the prospect appears to do well in holding the towering Spaniard off in order to protect the ball.
You can see the photos of him against the ex-Flamengo man below.
Hopefully, we will get to see the midfield maestro soon.
Cătălin has made 11 Premier League 2 appearances this season, scoring once and assisting once.
Arsenal find themselves out of both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, and the Europa League has entered the knockout stage, so chances for the Romanian might not come this season.
Unless Arsenal’s game against Brighton on May 23rd is a dead rubber affair in which Arteta can experiment, we might not see Cătălin until next term.
