It was a horrible January transfer window for Arsenal.

The Gunners loaned or straight-out dumped a number of high-profile players – including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – and failed to sign a single senior players throughout the winter window.

However, Arsenal did complete one under-the-radar deal.

In late January, the North London club’s official website confirmed that they had signed a youngster by the name of Lino Sousa.

The 17-year-old left-back joined Arsenal after coming through West Bromwich Albion’s academy.

Despite the fact it was only three weeks ago, Sousa, an England youth international, has already been promoted to Mikel Arteta’s senior training sessions.

On Wednesday, Sousa was photographed at London Colney ahead of tonight’s visit of Wolves in the Premier League.

The teenager won’t be involved tonight, but his presence in training illustrates a rapid transition to life at Colney nonetheless and he certainly seems an exciting prospect.

Here are some photos of the youngster in action yesterday:

Arsenal, who also handed Sousa his first-ever professional contract, clearly think a lot of the starlet and it’ll be fascinating to see how he develops over the coming years.

Rubbing shoulders with the likes of Thomas Partey and Gabriel Martinelli at Colney can’t possibly be a bad thing, though.
