There was a forgotten man in Liverpool training on Tuesday afternoon.
So many of Liverpool’s players are away on international duty right now, but there’s still a chunk who have remained at the Axa Training Centre.
Jurgen Klopp put the stragglers through their paces on Tuesday and a certain Nat Phillips stood out by his presence alone.
The 24-year-old was slapped with a £15 million price-tag by Klopp during the summer transfer window but failed to get a move away from Anfield.
And that hurts the player in a big way because Phillips hasn’t kicked a ball under the Liverpool boss this season – and probably won’t ever again.
Here’s some photos of the big centre-back:

Finished at Liverpool?
Yes, he is.
It’s a brutal assessment to make, when you consider how important Phillips was for Klopp last season in helping them qualify for the Champions League.
But football is a brutal business and the reality is that Liverpool just don’t need him anymore.
With Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez all fit again, and Ibrahima Konate having arrived this past summer, there’s no room for the former Bolton Wanderers powerhouse.
And once January comes, he’ll be itching for a move away from Merseyside – and this time, he’ll get it.
