Today, Matt Doherty was spotted back in first-team training for Tottenham, having endured a period in isolation following a positive Coronavirus test.
The former Wolves man – who joined Spurs for £14.7 million in the summer – last played for the north Londoners on November 8th, grabbing an assist in a 1-0 win over West Brom.
Doherty and Republic of Ireland teammate both returned positive tests following the nation’s 1-0 defeat to Gareth Bale’s Wales on November 15th.
That led to Jose Mourinho doubting whether or not the Republic of Ireland squad following COVID-19 protocols, as the Evening Standard revealed.
Without Doherty, Spurs picked up a fantastic three points against Manchester City.
Now, however, the 28-year-old has been allowed to reunite with his teammates, something he appears to be happy about judging by his grin in the photo.

So far in his Tottenham career, Doherty has made ten appearances.
His only goal involvement was the aforementioned assist against West Brom. However, we should expect more from the full-back going forward given his excellent attacking record for Wolves.

In 50 appearances last season, Doherty scored seven goals and recorded five assists, which is extremely impressive for a defender.
Let’s just hope he can replicate that form in a Tottenham shirt.
