Matt Ritchie has been spotted back in training for Newcastle as he steps up his recovery from an acromioclavicular joint injury he suffered in September.
The Scotland international hasn’t played since September 27th after suffering an injury in the 1-1 draw against Tottenham.
Now however, he is closing in on a return as he rejoins Steve Bruce’s squad in full training during the international break.
The former Bournemouth man, who Newcastle signed for £10 million, was photographed looking focused, serious and switched on, in what appears to be a chilly session on Tyneside.

In total, Ritchie has made just three appearances this season having also played twice in the Carabao Cup, featuring against Blackburn and Morecambe.
It will be a huge boost for Bruce to welcome back a valued senior member of his first-team after nearly two months out of action.
Since arriving from the Cherries, the 31-year-old has made 151 appearances for the Magpies, scoring 24 goals while recording 28 assists.

Injured duo Ryan Fraser and Dwight Gayle are not quite fit enough to rejoin full training as of yet.
However, Newcastle’s official site mentions that they were out on the grass as part of the two-minute silence which took place on Wednesday morning.
