One man who has really struggled to keep himself fit for Liverpool this season, alongside Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, is Joël Matip.
The £100,000-a-week man hasn’t played for the Reds since suffering a problem during the first half of the 3-1 win over Tottenham.
That was back on January 28th, and Jürgen Klopp has been left with just Ozan Kabak, Nat Phillips, Rhys Williams and Ben Davies as a result.
Now, however, Matip has been spotted out on the grass at the AXA Training Centre as he steps up his recovery from ankle ligament damage.
As the Liverpool Echo reveal, the Reds will also place the 29-year-old on a specialised programme, to help him avoid picking up anymore injuries.

Since arriving at Anfield on a free transfer in 2016, the Cameroonian centre-back has struggled with a number of niggling fitness issues.
Now he’s back in training, with his specialised programme to work off, Matip will hopefully be available to Klopp more often.
Let’s take a look at the photo of him at the AXA Training centre yesterday.

It really has been a difficult season for Matip.
He’s only been able to start nine Premier League games.
He’s also had to watch from the sidelines as his once-formidable teammates suffer a number of embarrassing defeats.
Hopefully, Matip can have some role in Liverpool’s late push for a place in the Champions League.
The Reds certainly miss his commanding presence at the back, and also his ability to roam forward with the ball and start attacks single-handedly.
Hopefully, that’s the last of his injury problems.
