The West Bromwich Albion winger has an extra reason to impress against Stoke

West Bromwich Albion face Stoke City away tomorrow afternoon, with Alan Pardew’s side boosted by the return of winger Matt Phillips from injury.
Phillips has missed West Brom’s last four Premier League games with a thigh problem but is set to make the trip to Stoke, as reported by the club’s official website.
If Phillips does feature then he will be especially determined to impress as he looks to convince Pardew that he doesn’t need to bring in a new winger when he transfer window opens in January.

A lack of goals from wide areas has been one of the issues affecting West Brom this season, and Phillips has certainly been guilty in that regard having scored just once in 13 league games.
However, the 26-year-old, who got at assist against Newcastle United in his last appearance, will be determined to prove to Pardew that he is a player worth persisting with.

It is clear that West Brom need to improve significantly, with the club languishing in 19th place in the Premier League, and Phillips will be determined to help his side get out of their current predicament.
