The Leeds United midfielder faces increased competition for a place in the side.

Leeds United host Millwall tomorrow afternoon and one member of Thomas Christiansen’s side will have an extra reason to impress in the game at Elland Road.
Following the arrival of Adam Forshaw from Middlesbrough this week, there is increased competition for places in the Leeds midfield.
As reported by The Yorkshire Evening Post, Forshaw won’t be in action against Millwall as he is not fully sharp, so Phillips will be presented with an opportunity to show why he still deserves to have a major part to play for Leeds.

Phillips has impressed at times this season, with the 22-year-old scoring five times in the Championship and playing some slick passes.
However, he is currently on nine yellow cards in the Championship this campaign and if he was to be booked against Millwall during what is likely to be a hard-fought encounter, then Phillips would receive a two-game ban.

Phillips must be disciplined against Millwall and he knows that he must also produce an impressive performance as he looks to convince Christiansen that he should still start regularly despite Forshaw’s arrival.
There is a possibility that Forshaw could end up partnering Phillips, but that would mean Ronaldo Vieira and Eunan O’Kane both wouldn’t be involved from the outset.
Christiansen will soon have a midfield conundrum to contend with at Leeds, and it is up to Phillips to show that he should be persisted with.
