Rangers defender Philippe Senderos has been speaking to the club website on a variety of subjects this week, and one intriguing angle has been the Swiss veteran’s perception on the competition for places at Ibrox.
The former Arsenal and AC Milan defender, who arrived in Glasgow after being released by Aston Villa in the summer, is one of a number of central defensive options for manager Mark Warburton, as the Englishman looks to find both the perfect combination and options to rotate when necessary.

And the 31-year-old perceives a strong team bond despite that battle for a place in the starting eleven.
“The team is great, there’s a good camaraderie and there is a healthy dressing room, so it was really easy to settle,” Senderos told the Rangers site. “We just have to concentrate on being out there and training.
“It’s healthy to have competition and everyone fights for their place and trains hard for it. I don’t see many heads going down and everyone works hard and tries to get back into the team and that’s the kind of attitude that you want in order to be successful.”
Senderos, who is the most experienced defender at the club in relation to international football with 57 caps for Switzerland, is competing with Danny Wilson, Rob Kiernan and Clint Hill for a place in the middle of the back four.

Having struggled on his debut against Celtic, receiving a red card in the second half, Senderos sat out the next two matches, before returning alongside Wilson against Partick Thistle last Saturday as the Gers got back to winning ways.
He will hope that this is a central defensive pair that Warburton puts his faith in moving forward.
