Mark Warburton signed the Swiss international on a free transfer in the summer.
Rangers’ Philippe Senderos looks dejected after being shown a second yellow card and sent off
Philippe Senderos has certainly not had it all his own way since making a move to Rangers back in August 2016. The Swiss veteran was a free agent after leaving Grasshoppers in his homeland and Mark Warburton brought him in to enhance their defensive options.
It was a move that has failed to pay dividends. He was sent off on his debut, a 5-1 thrashing against Old Firm rivals Celtic.
Now he has reached perhaps his lowest ebb, as he is publicly castigated by Scottish singer-songwriter Amy MacDonald.
The Rangers mad singer had this to say to Swiss publication Coop Zeitung this week:
“He is a terrible footballer.
“Senderos is one of the worst players ever.
“In his first match, which was against Celtic, he got a yellow card and then a red card and was sent off the pitch.
“Since then, he has barely played. He has certainly not been a good signing for us.”

Senderos has been a flop at Rangers and the former Arsenal prodigy is surely not a player who will be sticking around past the expiration of his contract in May – unless new gaffer Pedro Caixinha takes a shine to him.
After his disappointing spells at Grasshoppers and at Ibrox it remains to be seen what is next for the 32-year-old, who has 57 caps for the Swiss national team.
But Rangers fans will just hope it is located elsewhere after his poor stint at Ibrox.
