The Frenchman was pleased with another good performance from his goalie.

Nottingham Forest found themselves on the wrong end of a 2-1 scoreline today, as they let a 1-0 lead slip against Norwich City at the City Ground.

The Canaries ended up being good value for their win but Forest still had some positives.

Apostolos Vellios continued his scoring run. The Greek striker now has three goals in as many games.

Then there was the performance of goalkeeper Vladimir Stojkovic.

The Serbian’s signing was not universally acclaimed when he arrived from Maccabi Haifa. A goalie was needed after Dorus De Vries’ switch to Celtic, but Stojkovic’s reputation as error-prone had Forest fans concerned.

But he was excellent against Aston Villa last weekend and saved a penalty against Norwich today.

After the game Nottingham Forest manager Philippe Montanier was full of praise for his new keeper, but did wish he was less busy. He is quoted by the official club website as stating:

“Vladimir has played very well but of course it is no good when our goalkeeper is having to play well to keep us in the game.

“We have to protect him better and we have to be stronger in defence to stop the ball getting to him.”

Stojkovic’s form is certainly pleasing for Forest fans, as they need a good last line of defence considering their ropey defending so far this term.

If they can tighten up in front of the stopper then he might start winning the club some points with his performances.
