The Nottingham Forest head coach looks set to be on his way out of the City Ground.
Nottingham Forest manager Philippe Montanier has been speaking to the press after the club drew 0-0 at Birmingham City this afternoon.
It was a solid defensive display from Forest, but they had very little attacking impetus and in the end a goalless draw was fair.
It has been a tough week for Forest boss Montanier. He has been waiting with his head on the block with the recent American takeover deal set to be completed. But then that collapsed and the Telegraph report that Montanier is all set to be sacked now that is off the cards.
Nottingham Forest manager Philippe Montanier
Speaking after the game to BBC Nottingham Sport he seemed resigned to his fate but simply said that it was simply out of his control:
“I try to work what is under my control with the players. I try to locate some players to help the team…the rest is life.
“The position of the manager when the result is not good is always uncomfortable but it’s not under my control.”
Montanier has always been a gentleman with the media and handles himself with consistent dignity throughout the issues at the City Ground.
But performances on the pitch have certainly not been up to scratch, with the side-leaking goals and constantly changing. It looks as though this poor form is what will cost the Frenchman his job at Nottingham Forest.
