Nottingham Forest manager Philippe Montanier has been speaking about the fitness of left-back Daniel Pinillos this week.

The Spanish left-back is seemingly on the mend in news that will be welcomed by Forest fans and their boss.

He is all set to play another 45 minutes for the under-23s this Friday and Montanier had this to say about his recovery from his serious injury problem:

Pinillos tore his anterior cruciate ligament in the game with MK Dons just before Christmas. It was a bitter blow for a player who had been a big hit since his arrival at the City Ground.

Now, nearly 11 months on, it seems that Pinillos – a summer signing from Cordoba in 2015 – is on the final stages toward an eventual comeback that will undoubtedly be welcomed by Montanier.

The 24-year-old had been in great form for Forest after his arrival and his defensive capabilities will certainly be welcomed back at Forest – who have been leaking goals.

It may still be a month or so until he is at the stage to return to first-team action – but Forest fans will be looking forward to having him back.
