The Frenchman insists he has a good relationship with the Nottingham Forest owner.

Nottingham Forest boss Philippe Montanier has admitted his disappointment at the departure of the club’s director of football Pedro Pereira – who left the club after only four months in the past week.

Pereira arrived at the club after holding a similar role at Fiorentina and after several successful years at Braga in his Portuguese homeland.

But he has left abruptly and the City Ground is now without a director of football, something that Frenchman Montanier will certainly want rectifying.

Speaking to the press today he admitted he was gutted to see Pereira depart the club so soon, and the he would need to talk to club chairman Fawaz Al-Hasawi in the coming weeks about the club’s structure.

He stated, as reported by the club’s official Twitter account:

“We have respect for Pedro Pereira’s decision to leave the club. We had a good relationship and I wish him all the very best.

“The chairman and I will have a conversation about the club structure but the most important thing now is to focus on results.

“I have regular conversations with the chairman and we have a good relationship. He always asks what we need to help the team.”

Forest have certainly had an interesting experience in the transfer market recently. The club have signed relatively unknown players throughout the summer with limited Championship experience – although some have certainly looked like good finds.

Meanwhile they also sold star talent Oliver Burke to German side RB Leipzig.

Forest fans will wait and see if the club do bring in a new person for the role in the coming weeks or months.
