Philippe Coutinho joined Barcelona from Liverpool last month.

Barcelona ace Philippe Coutinho sat down for an exclusive interview with Spanish media outlet Marca, and opened up on the real reason why he swapped Anfield for the Camp Nou.
The 25-year-old left Liverpool for Barcelona last month, in a deal believed to be worth in the region of £145 million, and many Reds fans were left devastated following the Brazilian’s exit.

Coutinho joined Liverpool from Inter Milan in January 2013, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £8.5 million, and went on to be nothing short of a resounding success on Merseyside, racking up 54 goals and 46 assists in 201 appearances for the Reds.
The Brazil international was a fan favourite at Anfield, and he loved the club too. He explained to Marca, however, why he made the decision to join Barca last month, rather than stay on Merseyside:

“It wasn’t possible in the summer, but we worked so that it could be done in winter. I really want to win big titles, it was one of the reasons that made me sign for the club. I want to win as many as I can, I don’t have preferences.”
Jürgen Klopp is still yet to bring in a like-for-like replacement for Coutinho, but his side have coped in the absence of the Brazilian so far, mostly because Mohamed Salah has been in such electric form.
The German will surely bring in another attacking midfielder in the summer, however, considering the fact that he has cash to burn.
Quite who that will be, though, remains to be seen.
